Costa Verde (Green Coast) is so named because of the rich vegetation of mastic, broom, bearberry and juniper down from the mountains to the sea between valleys and sand dunes. It extends on the west coast for about 47 kilometers, in a succession of miles of beautiful beaches, interrupted by rocky coves, dark and imposing cliffs dropping into the sea and desert sand interspersed the Mediterranean bush.
All around mountains and shrubs shaped by the best of sculptors: the wind. It is not uncommon in fact meet with junipers and other shrubs bent almost to the ground as in an elegant bow to a still unspoiled nature and regal that asks for nothing more than to be respected.
Beach Tower Corsairs in the magnificent Costa Verde, shows a sandy ocher is bordered by high dunes, and is lapped by the turquoise-green color. The beach stretches for about 1.5 kilometers to the town of Pistis. The color white and golden sand tends to strongly oppose with the surrounding landscape, where stands the green of the Mediterranean scrub that covers hinterland hills on three sides (north, east and south). Its waters are blue iridescent for the play of light created by the sun reflecting off the bottom. A color effect is suggestive offered by the blending of golden sand, the color of the rocks, the blue deep sea and the carpet of vegetation typical of Mediterranean vegetation that covers the hills behind him. Are to be reported in this area beaches Piscinas with its large sand dunes and the beach Scivu.
